What age is the best to start fretted instrument lessons?
The best age to start is very similar to guitar lessons although ukulele and mandolin instruments are great for younger students due to their size. Electric bass is best started when the student is big enough to hold the instrument.
What styles of fretted instruments do you teach?
We can accommodate beginner and intermediate ukulele and mandolin students. Bass students we can handle beginners to experts!
And I'll need my own fretted instrument?
Absolutely! Some ukuleles are notorious for being poor quality, so be cautious there. This isn't as common with mandolins and basses.

has an Associate's Degree in Music Theory and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Studio Music and Jazz, Guitar. Her performance experience includes various local rock and bluegrass bands.

has a Bachelor of Music in Studio Music & Jazz and has played many styles professionally, including rock, pop, jazz, blues, country, bluegrass, and many others. He has taught guitar and ukulele since 2007.

has a BA in Guitar at UT and has played professionally in a multitude of genres. Having once studied with KMS over a decade ago, Taylor is excited to give back some of the knowledge he has gained from starting his journey here!

is pursuing a Bachelor's of Music in Studio Music and Jazz, has over 20 years experience recording and performing various styles from Bluegrass to Classical. He has been teaching since 2008.
